Affairs
Since Makassed association is an islamic philanthropic
association; therefore, the directorate of social affairs concentrates
continuously on:
- The activation of the islamic theme through
Makassed.
- Providing assistance and services; whether social,
cultural, or environmental.
- The cooperation with the
specialized institutions relevant to these goals; whether located in Beirut
city or outside in the Lebanese districts.
Civic philanthropic associations who are active
in providing care services, social and human domains, local development, or
emergency aid, … all of them revolve around providing well-fare in its
global concept to humans as their general goal, but applied in each, according
to their capacities, resources, and circumstances. In spite of the versified
differences in the ruling governments, the application of the developmental
policy in the society needs and neccssitates the activities and programs of the
civic associations. These associations offer their services from human to
human.. they are close to the needy individuals in the society, and fund their
services through voluntary human resources, and social donations.
Thus, in discussing the concept of human
well-fare, quality of life, and its civic associations - locally or
internationally - the most important and urgent priority would be the issue of
funding resources, which neccessitaties the localization of investment plans
that supports in self-funding its activities and programs, partially or
totally. In spite of the difficulty in the localization of funds, the proper
management for these funds with the best investment needs knowledge, skills, in
addition to morals, ethics, faith, love and care for humans.
These are the general concepts of Makassed
association… it specified its goal, declared it, and worked for its
achievement; through the conscience of its administration and employees along
the years.
Therefore, our periodical objectives for social
services will always revolve around this general concept of providing well fare
to humans that is declared clearly through our religion Islam. Our services
cover all categories in the society; concentrating on women, children, and
elderly - who are the most vulnerable groups - in addition to youth, workers,
employees; and in all needed domains.
Makassed Association, through all its services
and activities, offers and provides its services to the students in Makassed
schools, their families, and local community. So, it is always initiated from
their local needs and spread to cover the whole society.

Along the history of Makassed association, and to satisfy the versified social
needs in its society, this necessitates the establishment of other
organizations; affiliated with Makassed association-the main association. These
affiliated organizations are differentiated by their different goals and
objectives, but linked all together in satisfying Makassed's mission and
complementing its activities. Makassed association and these affiliated
organizations address the same beneficiaries in the same districts, working
complementarily to satisfy the same goal. These organizations were established
along the time, which are:

- Makassed Islamic Scout

Association
and more of these organizations is expected in the coming
future.
