Expected Results

Quality education was and will always remain the committed goal for Makassed. Proof of such commitment has been manifested in the results that Makassed’s students whose passing rate has never been lower than 97% in the Lebanese General Secondary Certificate exams, while the outstanding ones among them have consistently been within the first ten who achieved the highest scores in these exams.

Moreover, 100% of the graduates from the School of Nursing have constantly passed the Lebanese Nursing Colloquium Exams while many of them been secured first ranks. Those of them who sought employment after graduation have immediately found well paid jobs in Lebanon and the Arab Gulf Countries. Many of the others who pursued their post graduate degrees in the United States of America have successfully passed the Texan Board of Nursing. All of that is a clear example of the academic achievements that Makassed University has been accustomed to and which it will continue to aim at.

Targeted Affiliation

Makassed University will seek academic and research affiliations with prominent and international universities as other members in the Makassed family did. That was the case in the affiliation agreement jointly signed by the Makassed General Hospital and the “Institut de cancérologie Gustave Roussy” to establish pioneering center in Lebanon for Bone Marrow Transplantation, as well as the hospital’s affiliation with the “Centre Hospitalier Regional Universitaire de Lille”.

The University will aim in such associations to reinforce the academic values and the quality of education it has pledged for, and to enrich the scope of knowledge in its academic programs at the disposal of its faculty members and its students.

An Academic System for Genuine Learning

Both the school of Nursing and Health Sciences and the faculty of Management and Information Technology at Makassed University follow the American system of education. Students will take credit based courses during two regular semesters and one summer session in each academic year. And in order to cope with the contemporary needs in global markets, English is decided to be the main language for instruction in these faculties as well as in most of the university future faculties.

All curriculum programs are designed to facilitate students learning and not just instructing. Courses are constructed with built-in techniques used for active learning such as in-class student interaction, effective experimentation, real-life simulation, current data research projects, and on-the-job hands-on internships. All in all, the University will take aim at developing its students’ skills and knowledge, making them competent to take their own initiatives, and turning them into leaders of their future.
