Makassed General Hospital proudly joined healthcare organizations around the world in marking International Nurses and Midwives Day under this year’s theme “Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economies.” This annual celebration pays tribute to the dedication, compassion, and essential role of nurses and midwives and their ongoing contributions to patient care.
The event began with opening speeches by Makassed President, Dr. Faisal Sinno, Mrs. Joumana Najjar (CMO), and Miss Iman Abiad (CNO), who expressed deep gratitude to the nursing staff for their hard work and commitment throughout the year.
The ceremony was followed by a touching video presentation highlighting moments from Nurses Week, including team-building, educational, and recreational activities organized to show appreciation for the staff’s efforts.
Outstanding nurses from each department were recognized for excellence in patient care, leadership, and teamwork. Special tributes were paid to retirees Mrs. Khayria Niyazi and Mr. Mahdi Ballouk for their lifelong dedication at MGH. Prizes were also awarded to staff who actively participated in the week’s events.
The event ended with a reception, giving staff the chance to connect and reflect on their shared goals and contributions. Makassed General Hospital extends sincere thanks to every nurse for their unwavering dedication and the care they provide every day.
