The UN-Habitat BERYT project, titled “Supporting Community Mobilization and Outreach for the Reconstruction of Housing Units Affected by the Port of Beirut Explosion,” was successfully concluded in August after three years of dedicated work. Under the supervision of Engineer Rayan Fakhreddine (Project Coordinator) and Dr. Sirine Daouk (ESS Expert), the initiative oversaw the renovation of 12 buildings across Gemmayzeh, Achrafieh, Mdawwar, and Rmeil. A closing ceremony marked the project’s completion, attended by Lebanon’s Minister of Culture, Ghassan Salamé, and Beirut Governor, Marwan Abboud. To ensure accountability and transparency, Ernst & Young finalized an independent audit of the project’s finances.
