Makassed General Hospital is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of quality care through its fully aligned Quality Management System (QMS). This system adheres to both ISO Standards and the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) Accreditation Standards, ensuring that all operations meet international and national health care requirements.
ISO Certifications:
Makassed General Hospital proudly holds the following ISO certifications:
- ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management System, certified since 2003
- ISO 22000:2018 – Food Safety Management System, certified since 2014
These certifications are maintained through regular annual assessments and re-certification audits conducted every three years. The results from these evaluations drive continuous improvement within the hospital’s Quality Management System, ensuring that Makassed General Hospital consistently delivers high-quality healthcare services.
Integration with MOPH Accreditation Standards:
In addition to ISO standards, Makassed General Hospital integrates the MOPH Accreditation Standards into its Quality Management System. During ISO assessments, the hospital’s compliance with MOPH accreditation is also evaluated, reinforcing its commitment to exceptional healthcare practices.
MOPH Self-Assessment and Action Plan:
Recently, the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) updated its accreditation standards based on expert reviews and introduced a mandatory Self-Assessment for hospitals. Makassed General Hospital has successfully completed this assessment. The findings from the self-assessment are being utilized to create an Action Plan for process improvement and Risk Management. Despite the ongoing challenges in Lebanon, this plan is being actively implemented to enhance hospital operations and ensure the safety and well-being of all patients.
