Our gifted senior from Makassed Omar Ben Al Khattab College, Leen Al-Zoughbi, was selected to represent Lebanon in the world’s largest conference “Mobile World Congress” in Barcelona, Spain.
Chosen as an advocate for girls in STEM, Leen was a champion proving to the world how powerful Lebanese innovators are. During the first week of March, Leen was invited by UNICEF to advocate for online safety for girls at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Leen, a tech enthusiast, combines her love for innovation with a commitment to community service, creating impactful solutions that empower and inspire girls from marginalized communities. Leen learned coding languages with a scholarship from CodeBrave and interned with organizations like nni (South Africa) and MindMatter (Estonia). She was invited to share her experience and knowledge on web development and coding at the American University of Beirut. Leen also initiated her global community of talents “Nova Gen,” counting 35+ volunteers and 100+ members and providing free STEM courses to girls. She was recently selected for the TechGirls Exchange program (USA), with the goal of demonstrating that “Yes, Girls Can” and advocate for their right to equal Technology access. Leen’s voice and actions are paving the way for a safer digital future.
