Between June and August 2025, the Architecture and Design Unit made substantial progress on a wide range of renovation and improvement projects across schools, university facilities, community centers, and residential spaces.
At Ali Ben Abi Taleb College, external painting works were completed, giving the school a refreshed and more welcoming appearance. In parallel, the school merging process is underway, with structural adjustments progressing steadily.
At Makassed University in Beirut, the restoration of Annex 01 is ongoing, aimed at upgrading infrastructure, ensuring safety compliance, and improving accessibility for students and faculty.
Makassed Center also witnessed notable upgrades: the ground-floor toilets were fully renovated, while the main meeting room was refurbished to support administrative and academic activities. Additional works included tree pruning to improve safety and aesthetics, as well as the transformation of the Ward Salon into a functional community space.
At Ward El Makassed, multiple enhancements were carried out, including the rehabilitation of restrooms and meeting spaces, strengthening the center’s ability to host programs effectively.
Educational facilities remained a core focus. At Khaled Ben El Walid College, interior renovations are underway, alongside the restoration of the fourth-floor science lab and other classroom improvements. The playground toilets at the Horsh campus were also rehabilitated, while Abdul Kader Kabbani High School saw extensive renovations across the third, fourth, and fifth floors, revitalizing its learning environment.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate the Architecture and Design Unit’s dedication to improving the functionality, safety, and appearance of Makassed’s facilities. By modernizing classrooms, refurbishing laboratories, restoring housing units, and upgrading community spaces, the unit continues to provide environments that support learning, well-being, and community growth.
